Rumble in the jungle?

So at approximately 5.00 a.m. today, I felt my bed tremble and was briefly awake from what I thought was a dream in which I was moving.  Turns out it was an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the richter scale.  Google-ing "earthquake in Nairobi" gave a bunch of hits, and one website lists daily quakes worldwide, so far today there have been 24 earthquakes... how amazing is that, ranging in magnitude from 2.5 off the coast of Alaska to 6.8 off the coast of Chile.  One site stated the epicentre as being 33km NNW of Nairobi at 2.01 UCT (Coordinated Universal Time), yet the Kenya Meteorological Department attributed the tremors to a 4.9 magnitude earthquake that had occurred in the Indian Ocean at 1.41am UTC.  Clear as mud to me?!....
