About me...

Who is Design Zigane and what does it mean?

I am Naomi Scott-Dunne, a professional interior designer who trained at the KLC School of Design in London's Chelsea Design Centre - two and a half years of hard but enjoyable work! Following my graduation I opened a design studio (Scott-Dunne Interiors) in New York, my projects were predominantly residential, with a couple of commercial projects. I am an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and love being a part of this prestigious body. New York is a phenomenal place to source new and old, the biggest melting pot in the world. I will love you forever NYC. Thereafter, I moved to Nairobi, Kenya and continued to work with the United Nations and managed some large residential projects there.

Before (and after) training as an interior designer, I worked for the United Nations in every continent except South America and helping people has been a huge part of my life. I moved to Johannesburg, South Africa in November with my family. I have just been appointed by The African Institute of the Interior Design Professions (IID) as an IID Ambassador, which is exciting.. join me in seeing how this adventure pans out...

This blog is a compilation of ramblings, e-moirs and random things which come to me like a flash of lightning! it is a mixture of design-related posts, some about my beautiful family, friends, things I love, collections I hope to accumulate, pieces of furniture I renovate; places I love to visit and my love of things vintage will play a starring role.

Tzigane means gypsy in French and I am undoubtedly wanderlust by nature.
